Retraction Process

  1. A concern may be raised by authors, reviewers, readers, editors, institutions, or third parties.

  2. The Editorial Office will conduct a preliminary assessment of the allegation.

  3. Authors will be notified and provided an opportunity to respond.

  4. Additional information may be requested from authors, institutions, or relevant parties.

  5. The Editor-in-Chief, in consultation with the Editorial Board when appropriate, will determine the appropriate course of action.

The Journal may issue:

  • A Correction

  • An Expression of Concern

  • A Retraction

  • A Removal (in exceptional legal circumstances)

Retraction Notice

When an article is retracted:

  • The original article will remain accessible as part of the scholarly record whenever possible.

  • The article will be clearly marked as "Retracted."

  • A formal retraction notice will be published.

  • The retraction notice will explain the reason for retraction while maintaining fairness and transparency.

  • The notice will be linked to the original article.

Author-Initiated Retractions

Authors may request retraction when significant errors are discovered after publication. Such requests will be evaluated by the Editorial Office and may result in a correction or retraction depending on the severity of the issue.

Expressions of Concern

Where an investigation is ongoing and conclusive evidence is not yet available, PestBytes Journal may publish an Expression of Concern to alert readers to potential issues with a publication.

Article Removal

In rare circumstances involving legal obligations, court orders, serious privacy violations, or significant public safety concerns, the Journal may remove content from public access. A removal notice will be published explaining the reason for removal whenever legally permissible.

Corrections

Minor errors that do not compromise the integrity or validity of the work may be addressed through a published correction rather than a retraction.

Commitment to Research Integrity

PestBytes Journal is dedicated to preserving the accuracy and integrity of the scholarly record. All allegations of misconduct or publication concerns will be investigated fairly, confidentially, and in accordance with established publication ethics principles.
